Oral-B Pro Care 1000 Toothbrush --REVIEW--

I know us girls and guys take care with moisturising, plucking, waxing and treating our skin very well, but over the past few years, my teeth became a very important feature!
2 and a half years ago, I got my teeth whitened and I must say it was one of the best decisions I ever made. It was £230 as I was with Denplan but I can re-whiten whenever I like. It was painful but well worth it.
Therefore, I've always been conscious of my teeth and my for AGES my dentist has been pestering me about getting an electric toothbrush.. priced at £60+! I thought, "No way! I'm a student".. but, I looked around and a year later, I purchased it :)

Oral B Professional Care 1000
Ipurchased the Oral-B Professional Care 1000 electric toothbrush because of the specifications, the features and the 2 year warranty. At the time of this blog post being created this toothbrush was £61.99 in Superdrug, although when I purchased it the W/C 25th February, Argos had it on promotion at £29.99!! (Needless to say this is the one I bought, sorry Superdrug :( )
I've been using this toothbrush for approximately a month now and the Oral-B toothbrush claims to the most recommended by UK Dentists, and I can see why! The packaging is very pretty as the blue shades of colour make it appear sleek and attractive and you can also see the toothbrush through the window on the box too. It doesn't have too much information on the box, but the main features of the toothbrush are pointed out making great selling points.
There is one cleaning mode, and that's daily clean. Although you can purchase the Oral-B Professional Care 3000 toothbrush which has 3 cleaning modes if you really wish! But obviously that's more expensive!
The round head gives 3D cleaning action which is much easier than a manual toothbrush as it's faster, the long head gets right back to the back teeth and is much more usable with my anthropometric than my old manual toothbrush. The visible pressure indicator on the handle of the toothbrush which lights up red when you're brushing too hard!

A lot of people don't brush for 2 minutes, but this toothbrush is amazing for timing! The professional timer in the handle times how long you're brushing your teeth and every 30 second interval it pulses to let you know to move onto the next area of your teeth, after 2 minutes it pulses for longer to let you know 2 minutes is over. It's amazing! Lastly, the two charging indicators on the base of the toothbrush lets you know when it needs recharging which is usually about every 7 days. It also lights up green when charging.
I was really excited about using my new toothbrush due to all the features, but I knew I would have to wait. Whilst reading reviews online, users had said that you also need to purchase a 2 pin adaptor (shaver adaptor) to use the charger as it doesn't come with one. I thought I had one at home, but it wasn't the right size and therefore had to order one and wait till the weekend, AND then I had to wait 17 hours for a full charge!
This was a little disappointing, but if you're prepared it wouldn't detract from the product!

The charger is really nifty! You just pop it onto a little nobbly bit and it charges! very travel friendly, not clumpy and heavy! You will need to purchase new heads, like with any toothbrush. I looked at how much they were in my local Sainsburys and they were approx. £10 for 2! Me being a bargain hunter, I found a few on eBay at £4 for 5 so i know I can get the professional heads any time at a great price.
RATING:
Price; 4 STARS Depending where you look you can get a bargain! Although the more features the toothbrush has, the more expensive it will be! Shop around, try use your NUS student discounts in Superdrug etc. and look at the reviews!

Promises; "Removes twice as much plaque as a regular manual toothbrush." 5 STARS I can feel the difference! Very comfortable using it and it's really handy to travel with when you go on holiday and away for a few days!

Ease of Use; 5 STARS. The long head makes it easy to reach the back of the mouth to the larger teeth and all of the tongue. The timer is great to use so you don't forget as it prompts you as well.

Would I recommend to a friend?; YES! I love this toothbrush! I can feel the difference in my teeth and I feel great showing them off! I'm also confident that my teeth are being well looked after, especially as I have the odd fizzy drink and a few sweets.. everyday.
