MUA Nail Polish

I LOVE a bargain, and MUA nail polish is definitely that!
I own a total of 5 shades which I purchase repeatedly. You can purchase them through MUA's online store and in Superdrug stores:

MUA Nail Varnish - £1

I apply my nail varnish at night just before bed as it saves me time (weird I know!) I usually apply two coats, but when applying the first coat, it takes minutes to dry! I then apply the second coat straight away.
Amaretto Crush; Between a Coral, Pink and Orange

I've recently been wearing Amaretto Crush, perfect for Spring! I applied it on the Tuesday night and it only started chipping on Sunday afternoon and that was because of heavy duty work on that Sunday. I LOVE MUA nail varnish because it lasts so long without chipping and the colours are great!
Shade 20; Cerise Pink
Shade 16; Barbie Pink

When removing my nail polish, I use cotton wool pads and a basic nail varnish remover (cheap and value for money). The nail varnish comes off very well, pain free and no tricky hard rubbing or excessive use of the remover as we all know they stink!
Shade 1; Midnight Blue Glitter
Moody Mink; Mink/Lilac

MUA is the first brand I go to if I need nail polish. I love value for money, ESPECIALLY if the product is good quality and MUA are amazing! They have a variety of shades to choose from and most of the shades are great for Spring/Summer this year to complete your outfit look! Check them out!

RATING:
Price;
5 STARS At £1 who can say no! Perfect to stock up on a load of different shades for all seasons!

Promises; 5 STARS My nail varnish didn't chip for a good few days! And the two coats gave my nails a solid colour, making it look professional and more expensive than a £1.

Ease of Use; 5 STARS. The little 6.2ml bottles make storing the nail varnishes easy and efficient and the brush was easy to glide along my nails too to help apply the coat quick and tidily.

Would I recommend to a friend?; YES They're great value for money and won't disappoint with regards to quality! There are so many shades which are all prefect for all four seasons day to night! Plus you can afford to buy all of them if you wanted!

Oral-B Pro Care 1000 Toothbrush --REVIEW--

I know us girls and guys take care with moisturising, plucking, waxing and treating our skin very well, but over the past few years, my teeth became a very important feature!
2 and a half years ago, I got my teeth whitened and I must say it was one of the best decisions I ever made. It was £230 as I was with Denplan but I can re-whiten whenever I like. It was painful but well worth it.
Therefore, I've always been conscious of my teeth and my for AGES my dentist has been pestering me about getting an electric toothbrush.. priced at £60+! I thought, "No way! I'm a student".. but, I looked around and a year later, I purchased it :)

Oral B Professional Care 1000
Ipurchased the Oral-B Professional Care 1000 electric toothbrush because of the specifications, the features and the 2 year warranty. At the time of this blog post being created this toothbrush was £61.99 in Superdrug, although when I purchased it the W/C 25th February, Argos had it on promotion at £29.99!! (Needless to say this is the one I bought, sorry Superdrug :( )
I've been using this toothbrush for approximately a month now and the Oral-B toothbrush claims to the most recommended by UK Dentists, and I can see why! The packaging is very pretty as the blue shades of colour make it appear sleek and attractive and you can also see the toothbrush through the window on the box too. It doesn't have too much information on the box, but the main features of the toothbrush are pointed out making great selling points.
There is one cleaning mode, and that's daily clean. Although you can purchase the Oral-B Professional Care 3000 toothbrush which has 3 cleaning modes if you really wish! But obviously that's more expensive!
The round head gives 3D cleaning action which is much easier than a manual toothbrush as it's faster, the long head gets right back to the back teeth and is much more usable with my anthropometric than my old manual toothbrush. The visible pressure indicator on the handle of the toothbrush which lights up red when you're brushing too hard!

A lot of people don't brush for 2 minutes, but this toothbrush is amazing for timing! The professional timer in the handle times how long you're brushing your teeth and every 30 second interval it pulses to let you know to move onto the next area of your teeth, after 2 minutes it pulses for longer to let you know 2 minutes is over. It's amazing! Lastly, the two charging indicators on the base of the toothbrush lets you know when it needs recharging which is usually about every 7 days. It also lights up green when charging.
I was really excited about using my new toothbrush due to all the features, but I knew I would have to wait. Whilst reading reviews online, users had said that you also need to purchase a 2 pin adaptor (shaver adaptor) to use the charger as it doesn't come with one. I thought I had one at home, but it wasn't the right size and therefore had to order one and wait till the weekend, AND then I had to wait 17 hours for a full charge!
This was a little disappointing, but if you're prepared it wouldn't detract from the product!

The charger is really nifty! You just pop it onto a little nobbly bit and it charges! very travel friendly, not clumpy and heavy! You will need to purchase new heads, like with any toothbrush. I looked at how much they were in my local Sainsburys and they were approx. £10 for 2! Me being a bargain hunter, I found a few on eBay at £4 for 5 so i know I can get the professional heads any time at a great price.
RATING:
Price; 4 STARS Depending where you look you can get a bargain! Although the more features the toothbrush has, the more expensive it will be! Shop around, try use your NUS student discounts in Superdrug etc. and look at the reviews!

Promises; "Removes twice as much plaque as a regular manual toothbrush." 5 STARS I can feel the difference! Very comfortable using it and it's really handy to travel with when you go on holiday and away for a few days!

Ease of Use; 5 STARS. The long head makes it easy to reach the back of the mouth to the larger teeth and all of the tongue. The timer is great to use so you don't forget as it prompts you as well.

Would I recommend to a friend?; YES! I love this toothbrush! I can feel the difference in my teeth and I feel great showing them off! I'm also confident that my teeth are being well looked after, especially as I have the odd fizzy drink and a few sweets.. everyday.

Garnier Moisture Match - Shine Be Gone -

Afternoon! Hope the recent changes in weather have been kind to your skin! It certainly hasn't with mine. Plus, I am really ill with my endometriosis and a horrid cold!! so, here we go beauts..
I purchased this in Superdrug when it was on promotion from £5.99 to £3.99
After seeing the attractive advert on tv for the new Garnier Moisture Match moisturisers, I was dying to try them! - especially the 'Shine be Gone' one, as I have combination skin and one minute it will look too matte, and then throughout the day it'll look like I'm oily?

At first glance, the packaging is really neat; quite hard box with the major info on the front, so it's not too over powering. The different colours for each different moisturiser makes it easy to identify which one you need and also looks pretty :)
The 'Shine be Gone' moisturiser is a "Mattifying fresh cream, with 24hour hydration, oil free, suitable for sensitive skin and also suitable for combination to oily skin." - Perfect.
The smell of the cream is really fresh! Which is great as it's turning to Spring and it does absorb really quickly, and makes my skin feel like velvet. After I had applied my makeup on top I did notice a slight change, although throughout the day my skin was just as shiny as before, so I'm having to add pressed powder every now and then :/
The bottle is only 50ml as well, which is gone within just over a week, which is a bit of a bummer.
Garnier Shine Be Gone Sample

However, I've now been using this for just over a week now and it has made a change! My skin is more matte, which I have to be careful of incase it gets too matte, but it has changed my skin!

I do think I chose the right one though considering all the options. LOVE the advertisement, LOVE the packaging, LOVE the fact there are different variations but it took a while to WOW me! I'm in two minds right now whether to carry on using it to see the full effects after using the bottle up, or to stay with my Nivea moisturiser and just add a bit of powder every now and then?

RATING
Price; 3 STARS £5.99 is more expensive than  my regular moisturiser, although you can use your student cards to get 10% off in certain drug stores.. and I always take advantage of offers when they're on cosmetic products!

Promises; 5 STARS It definitely mattified my skin and gave it a velvet touch- even though it took a while to work, everything does I guess!

Ease of Application4 STARS Really easy to apply, although my skin soaks it up really quickly! So you feel like you're using a lot up which isn't good if you're trying to be savvy with your products and your money.

Would I recommend to a friend?; YES. A good moisturiser that helps the skin texture and problems, although I have only tried this one so I don't know about other variations.

Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara -- REVIEW --

Your eyes are the window to the world. Therefore, frame them :) They're beautiful; but you need a good mascara to frame them and make them look beautiful and pretty.
I recently purchased the Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara after seeing it on display in Asda and a few other stores, and it cost me £3.29 off of eBay, free P+P!
Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara Full Volume and Curve Black/Brown - 8ml

This mascara has such pretty packaging, shiny metallic purple with a funky shape too! To be honest, I'm never too hopeful with mascaras making my eyes look great because they all seem clumpy to me! But never the less, I will try this one!

The brush is a triple plump brush with rubber hairs to help magnify and cover all lashes. When applying, the brush was light but didn't do anything amazing until I had a few goes to be honest! My lashes weren't as bad as to say they were spider like, but to me, it's just a regular mascara.
I wore this mascara all day at university last week, and it started to feel a bit heavy. Whether that was because I was getting really tired, I don't know!
However, I did achieve a nice fanned look with the Sexy Curves mascara, but it did take a while to achieve this. I have no before and after pictures as they're not clear. But I would recommend you to try this never the less! It's not too expensive if you look in the right places and when I have tried a lot of mascaras, this one is okay, but I would like something a bit better- but I will carry on using it! Maybe I'm just being too picky?

RATING
Price; 4 STARS Varies depending on where you look!  Affordable: you can use your student cards to get 10% off in various stores and also look online for different deals!

Promises;  3 STARS. 'Full volum and curve mascara' -I didn't think it lived up to what it promised, although I would use it as an everyday mascara

Ease of Application; 3 STARS. Took a while to achieve the look I wanted considering what I assumed it would give but the brush was light

Would I recommend to a friend?; 3 STARS. YES but only as a basic mascara as I didn't think it lived up to what I expected it to

Freederm Overnight Clearing Serum --REVIEW--

I recently purchased the NEW Freederm Overnight Clearing Serum from Superdrug last weekend. I've been using various Freederm products for a while now and I have faith in them.. but I was also excited to try this new overnight clearing serum, especially as I couldn't resist due to Superdrug having 3 for 2 on all Clearasil and Freederm products and plus I could use my student NUS card to save more! .. so I obviously stocked up :-D
I also purchased my usual Sensitive Facial Wash, Fast Track Gel and the normal Gel.

I have followed the directions as stated on the product and this is how it went..
In the morning, I cleanse my face and use the Sensitive Facial Wash. I then apply the gel and apply my daily Nivea moisturiser followed by my makeup. When it comes to removing my makeup at night, I take it off using regular makeup wipes as soap KILLS my skin - it makes it so dry and hurts. I then cleanse my face and apply the gel again. Once this has dried, I apply the overnight clearing serum on my neck and stroke lightly in upward strokes across my face; cheeks, chin and forehead.

It claims to help reduce spot size, redness and also help restore healthy skin texture of the face.
the serum is light and rubs in really easily! Didn't feel too creamy and didn't irritate my skin at all. To be honest, as soon as the serum had dried on my face, I could feel a difference - as if my skin had been plastered with a smooth layer of skin on top! In the morning, my face didn't feel groggy or oily and my parents also noticed a difference so it must have done something!

As I have been under a lot of different stresses these past weeks such as my Uncle passing away, a funeral to help my mum with and the usual university stress, it's no surprise that I have had a huge breakout of spots on my cheeks recently. But honestly, this serum has helped my skin, I am under no doubt or illusion of that!

RATING
Price; Approx. £6.50 for 50ml: 4 STARS Affordable, plus you can use your student cards to get 10% off in Superdrug stores.. and I always take advantage of offers when they're on on these products!

Promises; Reduces spot size, redness and restores healthy skin texture: 4 STARS Definitely improved my inflamed spots. They were lumpy, red and clustered together. After a few days they had decreased in size and were much more manageable.

Ease of Application; Light upward strokes: 5 STARS Very easy to apply, like applying moisturiser. Wasn't sticky and absorbed into my skin really easily!

Would I recommend to a friend?; YES I have already recommended Freederm products to my friends and family as It's all worked for me and helped aid the recovery of my spots nd help keep my skin healthy.
